Lost & Found
Every day taxi customers leave behind a vast array of valuable property in taxicabs. The Nevada Taxicab Authority does not collect or take possession of unclaimed property, however, the Authority plays an important role in the recovery of lost property.
Nevada Administrative Code 706.551 requires taxicab drivers to conduct a search of the interior of their taxicab at the termination of each trip. If the driver discovers any property of a passenger, the driver shall immediately report the property discovered to his employer and, as soon as practicable, deliver the property to their employer. The employer shall maintain the property in his possession and dispose of the property in the manner provided by law.
Taxi customers are reminded to ensure that they have all of their belongings before departing their taxicab. If you discover that you have left something behind, immediately contact the taxi company, or call the Nevada Taxicab Authority at 668-4000.
